Austin Chase is another coffee company founded in Seattle in 1989. They are well known for their espresso coffee and other specialty brewed coffee. Austin Chase made its way onto our shores after its big success in Singapore. Its store layout provides a very comfy ambiance for coffee drinkers to hang out with family or friends while enjoying a cuppa hot coffee. The outlet in Gardens Mid Valley houses a meeting room which is suitable and quiet for business talks and one can even grab a book off the shelves for reading pleasures.
Austin Chase offers all day long breakfast which is good news for lazy Sundays. One can pop in and expect an English breakfast at 12noon or even later in the day. This was what brought me here.
I ordered Set 1 which consists of 2 slices of white bread, 2 sausages, scramble eggs and a hot steaming cup of roasted coffee. All for RM 9.90.
The coffee was good and you only need to add a tad bit of sugar. However, I can't say the same for the English breakfast though. The quality of the sausages is more of the supermarket standard. Don't expect juicy, succulent bratwurst. The eggs did not have any creamy texture in it and just tasted like fried eggs, only soggier. I must say the bread was the best among all, when top with butter.
I for one am a huge fan of English breakfast. I go round tasting every English breakfast i can get my hands on. So far, this is one of the most disappointing one. The good thing though, it is pretty value for money.
Set 1 to 3 comes with brewed coffee, while Set 4 to 6 does not include coffee.
They have many other varieties of food on their menu for lunch and it looks good. But that would be another post for another day as this post is about English breakfast.
