Khuntai Thai Restaurant

Khuntai which translates to 'Thai people' in Thai, is a very famous and well known Thai restaurant in Jalan Gasing. They have another branch in Desa Aman Puri in Kepong. Many have heard of this place and the food here is famed to be one of the best in town.

After hearing all the rave about the good food here, I find myself heading here for lunch. The place might be hard to find for those uninitiated, it is located nearby the Kaavithas Indian food restaurant. Parking is ample with an empty land opposite the restaurant which many diners parked.

                                                     Entrance to Kunthai Thai Restaurant

Upon entering the restaurant, we were warmly greeted by Thai servers. There are two sections in the restaurant. One with shaded roof which provided more ambiance and the other is an air conditioned section for diners afraid of the heat.

                                                            Bowl of steaming hot rice

The crispy baby sotong (RM 12.00) taste great! It has a hint of spiciness and sweet sauce. Crispy as well.

Next came the mixed seafood tom yum (RM 19.00). It was spicy with the right mix of sourness in it. The seafood array was also good. There were generous portion of seafood inside.

Pak Liang Thai (RM 15.00)- their signature vegetables. It is stir fried with eggs.

You must try the Claypot Glass Noodles with Prawn (RM 16.00). The taste is well infused with black pepper and black sauce. This is absolute perfection!

                                                              Chap Oong Omelet

Chap Oon Omelet- Simple yet delicious.

Chicken Wings- best to go with the spicy chili sauce

The Lemon Steam Fish (RM 45.50), is highly recommended by their staff. It has a mixture of spicy, sour lemon taste to it. The combination of the fresh fish and spicy sour gravy will make you want to eat, eat and eat. And the good thing is, the gravy soup is re-fill able!

Pipping hot fish is cooked with charcoal.

Lastly, we ordered the dessert. Sago milk with chestnut and jack fruit (RM 4.50). Every body's favourite!

The food here is authethic Thai, probably one of the best you can get in town. Friendly service and food does not take too long to be served. Would definitely be back for more!
